Wow! Can you believe
it! Half the year is gone already. I hope each of you has grown in your personal
and professional lives over the past six months. Our chapter has had some great programs,
including Bruce Norris, Mark Mellor and Bob McMannus, to name a few. We also had our most successful and awesome Spring
Tea ever. Sandi Gordon and the Spring
Tea Committee did a fabulous job, allowing us to contribute even more than last
year to Life Inspire Skills. In
addition, our quarterly Networking Events have been a great time to network and
make new friends. Make sure you plan to
attend our next Networking Event in September.
Now, we are gearing up for our annual Business Forum, to be
held in Palm Desert. This year’s event
combines the efforts of the Inland Valley, Southwest Riverside and Palm
Springs/Desert Cities Chapters. It
promises to be a great event, with exciting and informative speakers, including
Stella Ling and a Generational Discussion Panel. You can also take advantage of the Overnight
Stay and Optional Spa Package. This is
an event that you do NOT want to miss.
For more information on this must-see event, click here or on the Calendar Tab.
As we move through the remaining part of this year, I want
to thank our fantastic governing board and committee members, who have worked
so hard to make this year the best ever.
I also encourage each one of your to get involved with the chapter, as
this is where the value of the Women’s Council of REALTORS really shines. By getting involved, you not only give others
the opportunity to learn from you, but you also have the opportunity to glean
from our incredible membership. As a
Women’s Council member, you have set yourself apart from the rest, and you are
a cut above. It you have not joined a committee, become a committee member
today. If you already belong to a
committee, consider chairing a committee next year, and if you are a Committee
Chair now, why not put your name in the hat for a Line Officer Position. These are the steps that will propel your
professional growth. Don’t hesitate,
just do it! You will be so glad you did.
Lastly, I want to encourage all of you in our challenging
market.
We’ve been through downturns in
the past, and the market will change again.
If you can adapt to the changing environment, you will not only survive,
but you will thrive. Plant the seeds now
and they will grow…fertilize them and they will flourish. I look forward to the next six months with anticipation and
excitement. Woo Hoo!

1st. QuarterOver the past several years, the real estate market has certainly been a
challenge. As REALTORS, we have had to adapt to an
ever-changing real estate environment, and task ourselves to adapt
quickly to those changes. For some of us that has meant
learning real estate all over again, and getting back to the basics.
Through it all, hopefully, we have grown both personally and
professionally.
As 2010 begins, I am honored to serve you as Local Chapter
President and am excited to be joined by the long line of passionate,
competent, and dedicated leaders of our incredible chapter. We
are looking forward to a year of success, of growth and of learning new
ways to make ourselves and our chapter thrive.
As we move through the year, join your leadership team in
making this an amazing time for all of us. Make a
commitment this year to get involved; enjoy and benefit from the growth
that comes through participation in our great chapter activities.
I am here and available to support each and
every one of you, and invite you to talk to me about your passions and
interests. I look forward to getting to know all of you
better and to the great year ahead.
